'The Bourgeois Hooligan' is part of the Aesthetics and Identity project, combining elements of hooliganism with the Victorian era. This project was a projection of how I feel sometimes. I feel as though because I am small I am taken less seriously, therefore compensate within my dress sense. For example, taking typical hooligan style garments and wearing them to give myself more power as hooligans are seen as strong and intimidating.
I also have an adoration for Victorian imagery and clothing. The typical Victorian woman wore tight corsets and had big busts - characteristics which I do not attain. Internally, I want to dress with Victorian elements, but externally I dress more manly for power.
In order to express this identity, I created The Bourgeois Hooligan. A representation of myself demonstrating two characters, as demonstrated in an outfit mixing these two persona's together.
