'Tlk 2 Me' is a project is about generational differences surrounding the idea of conversation. Growing up in a digital generation has shown me that people rely on phones too much. It has become apparent that we cannot function without our devices, which in turn is affecting the social aspect of our lives.
I mean...
Why talk to people in person when we can do it online?
In contrast to this, my grandparents who grew up in a generation that did not rely on phones were, and are, much happier.
Thus, my collection draws inspiration from my generation and my grandparents’ generation, with the aim to provoke conversation and make a statement about phone usage.

The 2 outfits are made up of 6 pieces which can be mixed and matched.

I designed with the two generations in mind, whilst making references to excessive phone usage - tops with gloves attached to the sleeves - the gloves prevent phone usage, upside down pockets on shorts to make storing a phone difficult, and a sleeve sewn into a pocket to show how we always have our hands in our pockets where our phone is.

I wanted the outcomes to be bright to attract attention and provoke conversation. As well as being fun and wacky, to show that we need to loosen up and just enjoy ourselves without our phones.
